Albany Medical Center recently added an outpatient hyperbaric chamber therapy unit for patients with acute non-healing wounds and other conditions.

Hyman Hayes Associates designed the 1,665-sf suite with four chambers, a waiting/ reception area, two exam rooms, and physician and technician workrooms. Because patients spend up to 90 minutes in the chambers, TVs and radios are provided to help them pass the time.

An important project focus was the design of facilities to safely handle, supply and monitor the 100% oxygen that is used.
