Capital Cardiology Associates (CCA) is a full-service cardiovascular treatment group with offices throughout eastern New York State. CCA decided to expand into Massachusetts and selected Hyman Hayes Associates to design facilities in a 7,000-sf retail building in Pittsfield.

Hyman Hayes Associates created an open, yet defined diagnostic and treatment facility that provides four treatment pods. The pods are arranged along a circular path and allow four physicians to have their own work areas within the larger environment. Reception, waiting, medical records, and a nurse's station are grouped in a central core for easy access to and from patient areas.

Staff support spaces, including a break room, are grouped away from the main circulation route, along with a separate staff entrance. An 800-sf shell space was set aside for future expansion.
