Reliable and unquestionable results in a timely fashion are critical to the clinical lab. To achieve this it is important to have an orderly organization of spaces to facilitate the flow of samples from accessioning through to final results. Adequate space helps to maintain precise testing while minimizing the potential for contamination or personnel injury. Maintaining sight lines for safety, minimizing equipment noise, providing proper HVAC systems capable of controlling odors and providing proper equipment cooling, adequate electrical capacity, and overall lab flexibility for ever changing equipment are typical clinical lab considerations.
