Hyman Hayes Associates designed the renovation of an existing nursing unit into a hospice, palliative care, and oncology suite at Benedictine Hospital. The project was designed in two phases-hospice and some palliative care facilities followed by the remaining palliative care and the oncology space.

The hospice unit is differentiated from the rest of the wing through the use of finishes and by two framed wood entries. Individual rooms contain upgraded wood headwall units and each room will be individually decorated according to donor wishes.

An HHA-designed memorial wall marks the entrance to the wing.
