The G.C. Hanford Manufacturing Co. is a contract pharmaceutical manufacturer of injectable antibiotics for top U.S. pharmaceutical companies. Established in 1846, Hanford is the largest producer of natural penicillin in the United States. Hyman Hayes Associates has worked with G.C. Hanford to plan, study, and conceptually design several facility expansions and improvements.
One series of studies determined the economic feasibility of expanding existing office/manufacturing facilities. The project included 12,000-sf of new chemistry and microbiology laboratories, as well as modifications to existing ancillary areas. Design options included expanding the existing facility and a new stand-alone production and laboratory building.
