As a result of increased demand for their pharmaceutical products, Bristol-Myers Squibb identified the need for additional production areas, a GMP warehouse, and office space. They asked Hyman Hayes Associates to develop designs for the new space. We first prepared a space program to determine the size and quantity of spaces needed. We then completed a series of schematic designs to determine the best location for the additional space.

The project was developed in two phases. The first phase including a new loading dock and GMP warehouse in a niche between the back of the existing buildings.

This addition was designed to support a future second-story addition. Construction was accomplished around the existing building, which remained in operation throughout.

The second phase included a three-story 15,000-sf addition to the front of the existing building. The design of the addition featured a semi-circular entry piece that was clad in reflective glass. The remaining portion used vertical metal panels and reflective glass ribbon windows, matching the existing building. This expansion included biotechnology production suites, office space, lounges, and conference space.
