Amsterdam Memorial Hospital sought to evaluate the short-term and long-term medical services it provides. A medical planning firm was engaged to assist with identifying suitable services. Hyman Hayes Associates was commissioned to study how these services could be integrated into the hospital. We analyzed existing facilities in terms of their condition and utilization, and determined how much of the infrastructure and systems needed to be upgraded.

Hyman Hayes Associates next developed conceptual plans of how the new services could be integrated. A suggestion was made to make the first floor a "medical mall" with short-term outpatient facilities and amenities like café, gift shop, bank, etc. A third step prioritized projects into immediate, short-term (5-years), and long-term (10 years), with estimated construction budgets. In addition, Hyman Hayes Associates made several design recommendations, including a new façade and a more prominent entry.
