Albany Medical Center planned a staged upgrade to their three-room Angiography suite to accommodate new technology and upgrade its appearance. AMC asked Hyman Hayes Associates to design the project. During the first renovation, a new bi-plane angiography unit was added, which required modification of a shared, central control room. Workstations were added to the control room to accommodate additional staff.

Procedure rooms were originally designed with a computer access floor around the perimeter of a concrete pad upon which the angiography unit was placed. The new unit sizes and locations did not align with the existing concrete pads, requiring considerable modifications to route new cabling and utilities.
