Seton Health System chose to occupy space in a developer's proposed medical office building in fast-growing Clifton Park. Before construction of the new building began, Seton Health System asked Hyman Hayes Associates to evaluate whether the design could accommodate the proposed physical therapy and ambulatory surgery services on the first floor. We also helped Seton Health negotiate a construction build-out allowance for the spaces, and served as Seton's liaison with the developer during the building's construction.

Working with Seton Health and an independent operational consultant, we developed a $1-million surgery complex within a very tight 6,250-sf space. Our design created a one-way patient flow from waiting through recovery and check-out. We were able to design three pre-op areas, three operating rooms, four acute care recovery beds, three sub-acute care recovery beds, and support areas in this tight space while meeting all JCAHO and NY State DOH requirements.
