This project involves the addition of a 2,500-sf visitor's center adjacent to an existing historic manor house. The new facility replaces undersized and outdated facilities currently used by DEC with new upgraded and larger classroom and training areas.

The project was originally designed to achieve LEED certification. However, budget and program constraints did not allow for the full certification process. Nevertheless, the project was designed with strict attention to energy efficiency and waste management, incorporating regional materials, low VOC materials and geothermal heating.
